Root Canal Treatment in Kothanur, Bengaluru
Save an infected tooth and relieve pain, comfortably.
Who it's for
- A lingering toothache, especially one that wakes you at night
- Pain when biting, or sensitivity to hot or cold that lasts after the food is gone
- A swollen gum or a pimple-like bump near a tooth
- A deep cavity or crack that has reached the nerve
- A tooth that has darkened after an injury
What to expect
- 1An examination and X-ray to confirm the tooth needs a root canal and can be saved
- 2The tooth is numbed so the treatment is comfortable
- 3A small opening is made and the infected tissue is removed from the root canals
- 4The canals are cleaned, shaped and sealed
- 5The tooth is closed with a filling; a crown is often recommended to protect it
Recovery & aftercare
Most people return to normal activities the same or next day. The tooth may feel tender for a few days, especially when biting — avoid chewing hard food on it until it's fully restored. Let us know if pain or swelling gets worse rather than better.
Cost
The cost depends on which tooth it is (back teeth have more canals than front teeth), how complex the canals are, whether it's a first treatment or a redo, and whether you need a crown afterwards and of what type. We'll confirm the cost after an examination and X-ray, before we begin.
Quick answers
Frequently asked questions
Is root canal treatment painful?
The tooth is numbed first, so the treatment itself should feel much like having a filling — and it usually relieves the pain the infection was causing. Some tenderness for a few days afterwards is normal.
Can a root canal be done in one visit?
Often, yes — many root canals are completed in a single sitting. If the infection is severe or the canals are complex, it may take two or more visits. We'll tell you what to expect after the X-ray.
Do I need a crown after a root canal?
Often. Back teeth in particular can become brittle after a root canal, and a crown helps protect them from cracking. We'll advise what your tooth needs.
Is it better to just pull the tooth out?
Keeping your natural tooth is usually the better option when it can be saved, because a gap can let neighbouring teeth shift and may need an implant or bridge later. If a tooth can't be saved, we'll explain your options honestly.
